The Impossible!!!!
I have to admit that a week ago, I was walking around the ship in disappiontment after hearing the announcement that we weren't going to sail to Sweden anymore. The ship had to have a Bunker Convention Certificate in their hands to sail and it was said that it was humanly impossible for the mail to deliver this certificate in time. Well, I'm just here to let you all know that "What is impossible for man is possible with God." This is the email that I wrote my parents last Wednesday evening:
Hey Dad and Mom,
Yesterday, we were told that it was impossible for the ship to sail for at least another week because of our insurance problem. So, today, I was right in the middle of being trained for my new job, when all of the sudden, the service desk announced that everyone on board had to go to a meeting in the Logos LOunge right away.. We went upstairs and that's when they told us: Our certificate arrived in the mail and we are sailing,,, TOMORROW.... We all screamed like crazy, some people cried and we were all shocked, completely shocked.... So, guess what I got to do on my first day in the book fair. Pack down all of the shelves and books: it was so much fun! I loved it! and I can't wait for tomorrow.. We'll sail at around 3 p.m. and arrive in Sweden at 8 a.m on Friday... Wow! I can't believe it's finally here... I am literally bursting with excitement...
I was going to try and write to you all the good news, but our internet was shut off very soon after we heard about sailing, so I wasn't able to. But, I just want to let you all know the great news and say that God did the impossible!!! I heard this story yesterday about how God works...
When the Logos Hope announced to the YWAM group in Sweden that the ship was not coming anymore, this group immediately stopped their work, came together and prayed... They did not stop praying until hours later when they recieved the news that the ship found a breakthrough and was sailing to Sweden.. (Wow! God wasn't joking when he said in his word, "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." (Jeremiah 29:13) God is so so faithful!)
The Logos Hope spent this past weekend in Sweden, where the people warmly accepted us like I have never experienced before. I've never seen people more eager to come on board and hear about our experience of the ship's ministry... Working in the book fair, I got to have some really good conversations with people. I talked with two, 16 year old girls who traveled four hours just to see the ship and who wanted to sign up as soon as they could.. I also talked with a girl who is training to be a seafearer/ captain of a ship. The Logos Hope was the first ministry ship that she had been on, and she was already eager to talk with one of our captains about possibly joining the ship one day. One of the other really unique conversations I had was with a lady who nearly broke down when I asked her the question, "Is there anything I can help you with?" She told me, " I know that God has sent me to the ships today for a reason. I'm really having difficulty in life right now, and I just need help!" Although I personally could not do much for her, other than hold her hand while she began talking with one of our leaders, God placed in my heart, a fresh feeling of compassion for the brokenhearted.
Right now, as I am typing, The Logos Hope is on our two day voyage to the Netherlands... Thankfully, I haven't gotten sea sick yet. But please pray for those who are sea sick, and, as an ex-Angel, I want to ask you to pray for those who have to clean it up too! Also, please just pray that God would prepare our hearts more and more each day for ministry and what we're about to experience. It is not just my prayer, but everyone's prayer, that every single person that enters this ship, will not leave without growing closer to Christ and without experiencing a fresh sense of God's compassion and love.
Also, just pray for me. In the book fair, you get plenty of opportunities to talk with the excited, hurting, or just interested people that come on board! After just three days of being in ministry, I was already feeling worn out. Thankfully, God has been reminding me that my strength comes from him. But just pray that I would continue to perservere, under God's strength, especially when I feel so exhausted and find it hard to talk with so many people.

Thank you again for your prayers... I've been learning here, that there is so much power in prayer. I think it is so cool to think of all of the people around the world, who I don't even know, but who interceded for this ship and were heard by God.. Thank you for being a part of that....
love and blessings!!!
