My time on the ship so far!

Dear dedicated readers,

I'm so sorry if you have checked this blog daily only to find out that the video still doesn't work! I've tried numerous ways of downloading this video to my sight, but it just won't work. So, I apologize!

I've been on the ship for three weeks now and so far, I have loved every moment of my experience!  I can't believe how fast time has flown by though. It's crazy!........... For those who don't know, I have been working in the accomodations department every day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. I get to do all of the cleaning! My team cleans the restrooms, we deep clean cabins, we sweep every floor on the ship,  we do everyone's laundry, we run the snack shop; anything associated with cleaning, we do! But, my favorite part of the job is getting to see the ship transformed. Within the past week, my team has been able to clean and open up areas on the ship that hasn't been able to be used for months.... To be honest, I was a little disappionted when I first recieved my job , because a lot of my friends were working in the galley (kitchen) and I really wanted to work with them.  But, now, after working in my department for a few weeks, I can't picture myself anywhere else! I love it! The team I work with is such a blessing to me.... I am always working with at least two - three other girls and this is so nice, because we can talk to one another while we're cleaning, keep each other going when we are tired or frustrated, and we have a great time laughing as well. Last week, Me and two other girls had the priviledge of deep cleaning a guy's restroom. We scrubbed and scrubbed and cleaned it, but at the end, it still smelled terrible. We couldn't find out why it still smelled so bad until our leader came in and asked if we had cleaned beneath the shower drain. Let's just say that it wasn't a great sight when we lifted off the top of the drain and saw the sight beneath...  It was so funny to see the different faces that we all made as we tried to clean out the drain with a positive attitude. All we could do was laugh...... It might seem like such a simple lesson, but God has taught me what it means to serve him with joy, even  in the little things...

Another thing I  love about my job is the daily "Angel's Devotions" ( my team has inherited the name as "The Angels" throughout the ship). We start off every morning with someone sharing a devotion and praying for everyone... And also, we end every week with "Angels moments" which is where we end work early on Fridays and take time to do fun things, like learn oragami, worship together, have a food party, etc.

Each department has a uniform that they wear everyday. For those who are curious to see the Angel's uniform, here it is.

LOL, I'm just kidding!  They don't make us wear outfits like this,  thankfully! I just thought that you all could enjoy a little laugh.

Here is what our outfits actually look like ( The Accomodation's team wears red, and the galley wears green and white)......... These are some of my friends that work in the galley... ( The two in the middle picture were my prayer partners from Pre- ship training and they are very sweet girls!). The picture on the far right is a picture of me and a girl from South Africa named "Imogen." She is also a very sweet girl who I met at pre-ship training and who I've become friends with...

Here is a picture of me and the lady who I've been working with this past week. Her name is Kency and she is from INDIA! I've had so much fun talking to her about India and sharing our experiences.

Here is a picture of what we look like at the end of the day..... (starting from left to right there is Lieze from South Africa, Jing Suk from South Korea, Kency from India, Audrey from the US and me).

Here is a picture of the city of Copenhagen... Me and a friend took a train and went to Copenhagen on Saturday...

Well, Thank you all for reading my blog! Have a great week and thank you for your continual prayers.

Prayer points:

- That I will have perserverence in my job every day

- That I can be an encouragement to the believers on the ship and to my team.

- That God will provide opportunities to be a light and plant seeds in the city of Koge, Denmark.

I love you all!  Take care!

                                                                                                                                     Joslynn
